Don't shoot wedding on film! Imagine if you mess it up! (I was told). Luckily,Im pleased to say, that so far that's not been the case.
Over the last few years I've brought a film camera with me to all my Full wedding coverage days. capturing up to 36 film photos on stunning, Portra 400, Portra 800, Ultra Max or the classic Kodak Gold 200. My choice of camera is my trusty Canon EOS 300V, an autofocus film camera, paired with a variety of Canon EF mount lenses.
The illusive nostalgia 'film look' has become increasingly popular over the past 10 years. From pro photographers to phone camera enthusiasts, the grainy, muted tones of the film look, resonate with a wide population of people. Film is to photography, what vinyl is to music, it's full of imperfection and character, its ceremonial in how you consume it. I'm a kid of the 90s, so my parents would capture a lot of our family photos on film, and I adore these over any other format of photos.
As a Digital and 35mm film wedding photographer, I love the difference in feeling digital give you compared to film. the exceptional detail and resolution of digital makes documentary style a breeze, capture moments quickly and without any loss of quality, film offering a timeless nostalgic look we all know and love.
Being predominantly a Digital photographer, film photography is something I've had to gain confidence in. You check your settings, you find the right moment, you shoot your shot and.... then you have to wait for it to get processed. Thankfully Just Shoot film are exceptionally quick in processing film, and can return your photos very fast, highly recommend, plus if you're based in the Norwich area, you can just drop off the film!
