Emily & Dave | Hengrave Hall

Suffolk has some stunning venues to offer, especially for couples looking for that wow factor. Hengrave Hall delivers... in spades. Queen Elizabeth and King James ii stayed there and now Emily & Dave graced the prestigious venue with their presence.

My day began with taking some candid wedding photos of Dave and Emily relaxing with loved ones. As always, I take the approach of being unobtrusive allowing couples to relax. It's important to me with everything else going on in the day, flowers arriving cake arriving caterers asking questions, photography is one less thing to worry about.

I took the opportunity to capture both Dave and Emily separately for a few formals. There's a magic of both nerves and excitement that happens shortly before the ceremony which are so fun to capture. I made sure to give both of them a few prompts to make them feel relaxed in front of the camera and give them an action to do, though not directly giving them poses.

In fact, the only time I will give direct instructions and poses will be during formal group photos, this is unique to large group photos as there's a little bit more chaos involved, but we still make them fun!
